Our Brisbane Team

B. Bus (Acc), CPA Michael joined the Charter Partners Brisbane accounting team in 2017. He completed his Bachelor of Business, majoring in accounting and minoring in management, at the James Cook University in 2014. Michael is ambitious and is continuing to further his knowledge and skillset.  Michael strongly believes in Michael Gerber’s philosophy in that each business owner has three personalities – the ‘Technician’, the ‘Manager’, and the ‘Entrepreneur’. The Entrepreneur has the vision of what they want their business to achieve. The Manager turns those visions into action. The technician is passionate and talented in what they do and will inevitably realise that they need to take on the other two personalities for the business to succeed.  What Michael enjoys about being an accountant is connecting with the ‘Technician’ and giving them the tools so that their passions will prosper, and seeing his clients succeed. In his spare time, Michael enjoys a challenging game of chess, rock-climbing and pushing his weight lifting limits at his local gym.

B.Bus (Accy), CA, CTA Norman joined the Charter Partners team in 2017 as a Senior Accountant within our Brisbane office. Norman has completed an array of qualifications over his many years as an accountant including a Business Certificate in Accounting in 1984, a Bachelor of Business in 1992, he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Chartered Tax Advisor with the Tax Institute, and has been a Registered Tax Agent since 1992.

Norman has an impressive background within the accounting industry; he was employed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for 8.5 years, and he has 30 years public practice experience with 22 of those years being self employed as the director of Norman Wicks & Co Accounting since 1995.

Norman believes that being an accountant is not what he “does” but it is who he “is”. Norman enjoys assisting his clients in achieving the best possible results in relation to their personal and business goals. In his spare time, Norman enjoys sitting down and watching an exciting game of AFL or cricket, getting stuck into a good book, or dining out and experiencing new restaurants.

B.Comm (Acc & Fin) Jess joined the Brisbane accountant team in 2017 and completed her Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in accounting and financial planning in 2013 at Griffith University. Before joining the Charter Partners team, Jess had already obtained 6 years’ experience within the industry and is looking forward to gaining more experience by working with our experienced and seasoned accountants. Jess enjoys being able to help clients realise their financial goals and helping them become more successful. She is passionate about assisting individuals and businesses reach their potential by providing them with tailored business advice as she believes no two businesses are the same. Jess is currently studying her Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification to further her skills, and in her spare time she loves traveling to new places, singing, dancing and spending time with family and friends.

B.Comm (Acc), CPA Ella joined the Brisbane accountant team in 2018 and completed her Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting in 2006 at Griffith University. Before joining the Charter Partners team, Ella had already obtained 11 years’ experience within the industry and is looking forward to gaining more experience by building relationships and providing a high level of service to our extensive range of clients.  In her spare time, she loves travelling, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people in various countries as well as spending time with family and friends.
